A public petition calling to save the Sri Lankan housemaid sentenced to death, is now being signed in front of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFBE) premises in Battaramulla.

United National Party (UNP) parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra has expressed her disappointment towards the absence of female members of parliament during the Committee Stage debate of the Budget.

Private buses will hold a black flag protest starting tomorrow (08) against the increase in charges for emission tests, revenue licenses and valuations, said Lanka Private Bus Owners Association president Gemunu Wijeratne.
