French national severely assaulted in Matara

A French national living in Matara was severely assaulted by a group of men under the influence on Tuesday night. The victim is, 60-year-old Dominique Cardinaud, living in Sri Lanka for the last six years in a residence in Paramulla, Matara. “On Tuesday night, at around 8 p.m. Cardinaud was disturbed by a loud group of drunk men who had just frequented the bar next door,”related a close friend of Cardinaud who is currently undergoing surgery for his eye at the Matara General Hospital.
