Foreign affairs minister Mangala Samaraweera is confident that Sri Lanka has the capacity, expertise and the commitment to implement the provisions of the UNHRC resolution over a period of time, step by step, taking appropriate action that will ultimately vindicate that our nation and her people are at peace, assuming its rightful place among the community of nations.

The Friday Forum strongly urges that in the new constitutional amendments and electoral reforms, the timely declaration of assets by all candidates be made compulsory and provision be made that those found guilty of election law violations or cross-over, post-election, will lose their parliamentary seats.
