Fast bowling coach in trouble!

Fast bowling coach in trouble! Featured

Sri Lanka Cricket says it will obtain a report tomorrow (18) regarding a fast bowling coach and another individual over their alleged attempts to lure players into fix matches for money.

SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala said so during a media briefing in Kandy today.

Once the report is received, the coach will be suspended pending an investigation, said Sumathipala.

Sports minister Dayasiri Jayasekaraw has lodged a complaint to the FCID that Kusal Janith Perera and Rangana Herath had been reached to fix matches during the series against the West Indies.

SLC sources say the identity of the person responsible has been revealed as one Gayan Vishwajith, who had been introduced to the players by fast bowling coach Anusha Samaranayake.

When contacted, minister Jayasekara told Sri Lanka Mirror that no player was being probed over match-fixing charges, and that only their statements would be recorded to help in the investigation.
