All-Star T20 series begins tomorrow

The Cricket Masters League featuring all the retired cricketers will be played in several cities across the US with the first game scheduled for tomorrow (07) in New York.

The event will then move to Houston on November 11 in and Los Angeles on November 14.

Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne, who retired from the game in 2013, will each captain a team of some of the finest international players. There are some of the players who are as old as 52, playing three exhibition Twenty20s in New York, Los Angeles and Houston.

Speaking on the occasion, Tendulkar said "it was incredible co-incidence, both of us (Warne) did not think it will kick off, Shane said we can play three T20 games which will feature the best players of the game, and I thought the same thing. We are to popularize cricket, never thought this would happen, but we are happy and excited now. Everybody is talking about Cricket in Olympics, I think this is the beginning of that."

Australian legend Warne said "It's the second most popular sport behind soccer, we want to make it global. We got 30 superstars who made cricket proud. We love being together, we want to bring joy to the people, the people can watch their heroes and idols close this time, I thank all the people who supported us."

Sachin's Blasters: Sachin Tendulkar(captain), Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Brian Lara, Sourav Ganguly, Moin Khan, Mahela Jayawardene, Muttiah Muralitharan, Greame Swann,Carl Hooper, Courtely Ambrose, Shaun Pollock, Glenn McGrath, Lance Klusner and Shoaib Akhtar.

Warne's Warriros: Shane Warne (captain), Mathew Hayden, Daniel Vettori, Michael Vaughan, Courtney Walsh, Jonty Rhodes, Jacques Kallis, Kumar Sangakkara, Alan Donald, Wasim Akram, Ajit Agarkar, Sameer Dighe, Ricky Ponting and Saqlain Mushtaq.
