In our article titled 'Vajira, Gayathri in bogus bill scam?' we reported that Marketing and Communications head of SLC - Vajira Dasanayake and Ms. Wickramasinghe have reportedly produced an altered receipt to the accounts division.
Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', Ms. Wickramasinghe said that she was just Mr. Dasanayake's secretary and the said receipt was handed over to the accounts division on his orders.
Noting that the receipt was Vajira's, Ms. Wickramasinghe said that the money would be claimed to him as the expenditure was his.
She added that she had nothing to do with the incident, other than she being the one who had handed it over to the accounts division over Mr. Vajira's orders.
Noting that such a scam had not taken place, Ms. Wickramasinghe said that Mr. Vajira has not received Rs. 16,000 but has just received Rs. 6,000.
