Wickremesinghe, secretary to marketing and communications chief Vajira Dassanayake, has submitted the receipt to the accounts division, altering its figure from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 16,000.

Anti-corruption manager Lakshman de Silva conducted an investigation and already handed over his report into the matter.

When contacted, interim committee secretary Prakash Schaffter said he was yet to receive such report.

However, reliable sources say an interim committee member is trying to push the matter under the carpet, with the aid of a top official at SLC.

Both these officials have had close relationships with the secretary Wickremasinghe, say the sources.
