Rice rots after transport lorries taken away for election work

As many as 23,000 metric tons of rice had been stored and allowed to rot and feasted on by invading insects after lorries that were to transport the grain to Sathosa sales outlets were taken away for election work in support of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, it has been revealed today (January 21).
