The muddle is between Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva, the SLFP's defeated former Provincial Councillor Rehenasiri Waragoda and former Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) member and current SLFP Provincial Council member Sisira Jayakody.
A three-cornered contest is said to be taking place to fill the post of the SLFP's chief organiser for Kelaniya.
Already Rehenasiri has made it publicly clear that if he fails to secure the post of Kelaniya organiser he would team up to support Common Presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena.
It is reported that the battle among the trio of politicians has caused disruption or uncertainty in organising President Mahinda Rajapaksa's election campaign in Kelaniya.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is also said to be in the dark not knowing what is currently taking place in the electorate.
