According to internal sources of the SLPA, Mrs. Aponso has fallen ill from shock over the intimidations her husband is currently facing from minister Arjuna Ranatunga and his brothers.

She is currently being treated at the Emergency Unit of a private hospital in Colombo, sources add.

Earlier, a bigwig at the SLPA had threatened to sack Mr. Aponso from his job and throw them out from their official quarters if he did not back Arjuna's brother - Nishantha Ranatunga at the recently held Sri Lanka Cricket elections.

This morning (06), Mr. Aponso's office was sealed after he had not voted in support of Nishantha Ranatunga at the cricket elections.
