The GCE Ordinary Level examination will not be a future-deciding examination for students in the future, says education minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.

Since more than 90,000 students fail the exam each year, all students will be allowed to a study a stream of their choice for 13 years continually, he said at a function in Battaramulla yesterday (15).

He also said a committee headed by the prime minister would ensure that mathematics and science were given priority in the future.
