Any patriotic party or group is welcome to join this alliance, he added.

Noting that all MPs and activists of the SLFP should accept the leadership of the President and should be committed to work towards the party's victory, minister Dissanayake said that those who cannot do so are free to leave without hampering party's work.

It is said that many parties of the UPFA have also given their assent to join this new alliance and discussions have also begun with several other outside parties.
