Addressing the parliament today (04) he further stated that when the government could not save 17 year old Rizana Nafeek, who was murdered under sharia law for killing an infant while she was employed as a housemaid in Saudi Arabia, he stated that it was a severe weakness of the Rajapaksa government and that today also he holds the same opinion.

He further stated that if the said death penalty was implemented Sri Lanka should stop sending housemaids to Saudi Arabia and should cut off diplomatic relations with the country.
