The relatives said after their meeting that they had been asked by UNWGEID not to reveal to the media about what they had discussed.
The UNWGEID, which is visiting Sri Lanka after a lapse of 15 years, told government leaders at a meeting on November 09 that it was important to inform relatives about the progress of investigations into the missing persons.
International human rights groups, noting that the Sri Lankan governments had failed to implement the UNWGEID’s recommendations following their 1999 visit, stress that justice should be done for the thousands of missing persons.
