Heavy traffic congestion is reported from around the Wijerama Junction along the High Level road due to the protest march.

Earlier today, all students who were arrested during yesterday's HNDA protest opposite the University Grants Commission was released on bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.

The protesting students were assaulted by the police using batons, tear gas and water cannon and the incident sparked severe social outrage.
