Nissanka remains suspended over gross irregularities committed at the institution during the Rajapaksa regime.
Ratnayake had him at his official room yesterday (13) for a lengthy discussion.
The main accusation against Nissanka is that he had imported, without calling for tenders, a consignment of rice worth Rs. 12,000 million and committed irregularities in the clearance of same.
He also stands accused of faking documents to import goods for the CWE and buying Rs. 650 million worth of goods that are unfit for consumption.
He is the brother-in-law of Krishantha Kapuwatte, personal secretary to former trade minister Johnston Fernando.
