The gadget, which will be unveiled soon, will be able to contact two emergency numbers provided by the parents as well as the 119 emergency hotline, minister of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure - Harin Fernando said at a media briefing yesterday (02).

The screenless gadget similar to a mobile phone will be available at an affordable price and is created in a manner that will not allow children to play mobile games, the minister said.

Noting that the gadget is created to ensure the safety of schoolchildren, Minister Fernando said that they will seek the approval of the Education ministry for the gadget to be used in schools.
