It is said that the call for an investigation on the Weliweriya shooting has been removed from the draft resolution on Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council.

The first draft had called to publicise the military probe report on the incident, which had taken place on August 13, 2015.

The draft also called to publish the findings of the Udalagama and Paranagama Commissions before the end of this month.

Speaking in Geneva, the Foreign minister of Sri Lanka pledged to table these reports in Parliament.

The Udalagama report was handed over to the then President Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2009 while the Paranagama commission handed over a report to President Maithripala Sirisena last month.

Members of the C of I that was appointed by the Commander of the Army on 02 August, include Major General N.A.J.C Dias (President), Brigadier K.J. Jayaweera, Brigadier N.I. de Silva, Colonel T.D. Weerakoon and Lieutenant Colonel W.P.A.D.W. Nanayakkara (Secretary).
