CocaCK2 600px 15 09 23Though the Central Environmental Authority reported that diesel has leaked into Kelani River, it is reported that the claim had been made without conducting a proper test.

Furthermore , Sajeewa questions the reissuing the Environment Protection License, which was suspended initially, by pointing out that the leakage of the diesel was a mistake made during the maintenance activities of the factory.

Though it was reported that diesel was leaked into Kelani River, when the National Water Supply and Drainage Board tested a sample of contaminated water at a laboratory in India it was confirmed that 4-Methylimidazol ( 4-MEI, C4H6N2& ), a posionous substance, has been leaked into water.
