Lotteries board donates Rs 10 million to national Kidney Fund

The National Lotteries Board today (23) handed over to Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake a cheque for Rs 10 million to be deposited in the National Kidney Fund.

The National Kidney Fund was established in line with the sustainable program to control kidney disease, according to a concept by President Maithripala Sirisena.

The National Lotteries Board, on the instruction of Minister Karunanayake launched a new lottery named ‘Niroga’ recently and it first draw was held in July.

The lottery has received the fullest support of the people of Sri Lanka and as a result, the Lotteries Board was able to present this amount of Rs 10 million as revenue accrued from the lottery sale.

The Chairperson of the National Lotteries Board Shyamila Perera handed over the cheque to Minister Karunanayake at a ceremony held at the Finance ministry.

Secretary to Finance ministry Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunge and Nalaka Kaluwawewa, General Manager were also present on the occasion.
