Also, the right to information and audit acts which could not be passed during the previous parliament would be fast tracked within six months, he said.
Furthermore, the constitutional council set up as per the 19th amendment to the constitution and independent commissions established, the speaker promised.
SLFP not much agreeable
He went onto say that discussions were underway with party leaders to abolish the executive presidency, a call by civil society organizations, including Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera’s National Movement for a Just Society.
