JVP opts out of coalition govt. Featured

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has said decided not to be a part of any coalition government and obtain ministerial portfolios regardless of who wins at the upcoming General Election.

Although they will be unable to sweep into power, they will take up their responsibility as a powerful opposition, the JVP adds.

According to the prevailing parliamentary system, people will be able to obtain relief if a powerful opposition exists and therefore, the JVP is of the opinion that the public will grant them the might to take up the task of the opposition.

Also, the JVP says that they will not set up governments with the UNP and the SLFP, which they say are 'outdated and expired' parties.
