TULF leader disapproves TNA's 'Federal' call Featured

TULF leader V. Anandasangaree says that he wholly disapproves of the recent statement of TNA leader - R. Sampanthan.

Unveiling their manifesto, the TNA recently reiterated its commitment to devolution of power through federal system in a 'merged' provinces of north and east.

Speaking to the state owned 'Siluminia' newspaper, Mr. Anandasangaree has said that the upcoming General election has dawned a chance for the public to elect a new government.

Such requests should be made after a stable government comes to power, he added.

Noting that Good Governance was important to the country, the TULF leader said that he would back President Maithripala Sirisena. Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe too, would be given their support although no discussions had taken place, , he added.

UNFGG disagrees :

Meanwhile, the United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG) says that they disagreed with the TNA's call for a Federal state.

Speaking during a recent media briefing, Deputy minister of Foreign Affairs - Ajith P. Perera said that the UNFGG would stick to its pledge of devolving power within an unitary state, as portrayed in the party manifesto.
