The UNP could have lodged the highest number of complaints against corruption and fraud by the previous regime, said JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
He said his party would intervene to take Mahinda Rajapaksa before the law although he wins the election, adding that it was his party that had lodged the highest number of complaints against the corrupt in the previous regime.
Actions by the president and the prime minister indirectly influenced the intensification of the political campaign by Rajapaksa, who has been provoking communalism, said the JVP leader.
Police nor the judiciary were allowed to independently carry out investigations, although the law should have been enforced against the Rajapaksas, he noted.
