The Department of Elections has allocated a sum of Rs. 75 million to the police Department for the removal of illegal posters, banners and cutouts of election candidates.

The Department of Elections has received a sum of Rs. 3250 million for the General election.

Meanwhile, it is reported that 1,989 laborers have been employed by police on a temporary basis to remove illegal posters and cutouts.

The initial stage of removing posters, banners and cutouts will be implemented in urban areas while the secondary stage will be implemented in the rural areas.
