The party, which will contest in the upcoming election under the 'cobra' symbol says that taking measures against the injustice done to the Sinhalese masses and the Buddha Sasana during the last few decades will be their main objective.
Accordingly, the country's name would be legalised as 'Sinhale', as it was known before 1815.
Also, measures will be taken to legalise the 'lion flag' which was present before 1815 and was raised on 1948.
The Gampaha district election campaign of the BJP was initiated after religious rites held at the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya recently.
At the event, a special introduction was done on the party symbol - the cobra.
Afterwards, the candidates met at their office in Gampaha where party chairman - Dr. Dilanthe Withanage spoke.
He urged candidates to spread the party ideology among the society to ensure the security of 'Sinhale' and to develop it.
In order to reach these objectives under a future BJP government, the foundation should be laid during this election, he added
