A special meeting was convened on this regard in Jaffna yesterday (03).

Speaking to 'BBC Sandeshaya', former editor of the 'Uthayan' newspaper, N. Vithyadharan said that the former LTTE members had agreed to join mainstream politics and contest the General election.

Mr. Vithyadharan added that he would be coordinating with them.

The majority of former LTTE members were rehabilitated by the government rehabilitation programme.
