MR's candidacy still undecided

President Maithripala Sirisena is yet to decide on granting candidacy to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the President's media unit has said in a media release.

It adds that the SLFP has not named a Prime ministerial candidate yet.

The media release was issued in response to former minister Keheliya Rambukwella's statement made earlier today. Rambukwella has said that President Sirisena had agreed to grant nominations to Mahinda Rajapaksa as well as to make him group leader.

Rambukwella has said that this was stated when SLFP Gen. Secretary - Anura Priyadarshana Yapa had met with the former President in Kandy this morning (30).
