These organizations met at Naga Vihara in Kotte this morning to discuss matters that should be raised with the president.
Convener of the People’s Movement for a Just Society Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera said the only solution to resolve the prevailing political crisis was to hold a general election immediately.
It would be better if the 20th amendment is passed before that, he said, adding that achieving an opportune moment like this will be a difficulty.
The Thera said he saw no difficulty in adopting the 20th amendment, but that there are issues with the government’s majority, which calls for snap polls.
