Probe renewed into Thajudeen’s death Featured

A fresh investigation is to be carried out into the mysterious death of well known rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.

Colombo additional magistrate Nishantha Peiris yesterday (13) ordered four JMOs to handover the autopsy report including pictures to the CID and the courts.

Thajudeen’s burnt body was found in his car near Shalika grounds in Narahenpita on 17 May 2012.

The finding of his purse from another location has not been explained.

Police investigations point to a member of the Rajapaksa family and a girl at a sports channel, with a love affair and professional jealousy being cited as motives for murder.
