State institutions fail top submit annual reports

The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has reportedly said that 27 state institutions have failed to present their annual reports to the Committee.

The COPE presenting its third report has pointed out that 27 government institutions have not forwarded their annual reports to the Committee for the financial years 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Five public institutions - the Paddy Marketing Board, the State Language Commission, the Ranaviru Seva Authority, the Rehabilitation Authority and the Botanical Gardens Trust Fund had reportedly failed to present their reports for all three financial years.

In the year 2011, five institutions had not submitted annual reports. In 2012 there were 12 public institutions which failed to present the reports. The number of government bodies which were unable to present annual reports had increased to 15 in the year 2013.
