The police officer in question is non other than the chief of the Presidential Security Division - Senior DIG S.M. Wickramasinghe.
The police officer had attempted to eavesdrop on a secret discussion being held at a special chamber in Parliament on April 26. Several powerful politicians of several parties including President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had participated in the discussion.
Upon realising the presence of the PSD chief, the president has scolded him and asked him to leave immediately, say parliament sources.
