Amarasinghe who quit JVP on Thursday (16) stated that he wishes to create a new party.

The Election Commissioner has reportedly provided him with relevant information with regard to registration of a new party.

Meanwhile, several groups have engaged in discussions with Somawansa Amarasinghe to initiate a new political movement.

However, the JVP Secretary Tilvin Silva stated the discussions conducted to rejoin Somawansa Amarasinghe to the party is 90% successful.
