The Minister has had a closed-door meeting yesterday with the Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal. The meeting had taken place at the State Department.

The Minister had also had a closed-door meeting with the Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Catherine Novelli on Thursday at the State Department.

The Minister is in Washington to promote bilateral economic relations and U.S. investments in Sri Lanka. He has delivered a speech at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce this morning.

He will also attend the 2015 Spring Meetings of World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) that will be held from 17-19 April 2015 in Washington, DC.
