The UNP says it will not agree for the formation of a national government before the conduct of the general election.

As per the promise given at the recent presidential polls, parliament should be dissolved in April and only then a national government can be formed, said education minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam at a media briefing today (09).

The 100 day programme of president Maithripala Sirisena says parliamentary polls will be held after parliament is dissolved on April 23.

UNP general secretary Kabir Hashim too, has ruled out a national government before the election, as suggested by the SLFP.
