Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', the spokesperson said that there was no truth in the minister's statement.
Sri Lanka's new Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, before last month's presidential election, said that the decision to approve or disapprove the project would be taken after considering the feasibility study and the environment impact assessment (EIA).
The cabinet spokesman yesterday said that no problems were identified after the Prime minister assessed the EIA reports.
However, the spokesperson from the Prime minister's office further told 'Sri Lanka Mirror' that the Prime Minister is to make a special statement on this regard today (06).
