Four police personnel had joined this hunting trip around 1.30 am on Feb. 04.

The injured policeman, Rohana Priyantha had accidentally got shot after getting caught in a trap set for wild animals and is currently being treated at the ICU of the Vavuniya Hospital.

However, certain media reports cited that a group of policemen had come under attack while on duty in Vavuniya and that one policeman has been injured.
