Joining the parliamentary debate on the UGC amendment bill yesterday (22), he said all university courses should be amended.
A focus of the debate was about the issue with regard to SAITM in Malabe, with both the ruling and opposition members expressing views on how it could be resolved.
Ranawaka said SAITM should stop enrolling new batches, unqualified students removed and only the qualified allowed to study to become doctors.
Minister Lakshman Kiriella said no one protested when SAITM was started during the previous regime.
Students have sat for for their final exam and they should be given a solution, he added.
