The Colombo magistrate’s court on August 19 issued a warrant to the Interpol for her arrest.
Presently in hiding, she is wanted by the FCID over the aiding in a Rs. 125 million financial fraud by Namal.
With Interpol searching for her, she has contacted the diplomatic missions of several European countries to seek political asylum, the sources said.
Meanwhile, ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa has sent several messages to Iresha to contact her immediately.
Namal, in remand custody, has advised his father and friends to get her to agree to return home.
Lanka News Web reports the Rajapaksas are after her as she possesses sensitive information about them, and that she had transferred 400 million dollars belonging to them to bank accounts in several countries, mostly to Seychelles.
