After arriving at the Parliament in a Prison bus, he was soon surrounded by MPs of the Joint Opposition at the Lobby.

MP Weerakumara Dissanayake has asked how the MP's new lodging was and Gammanpila has replied he was at the E ward and things were not bad.

Gammanpila has said that the inmates welcomed him with cheers and his number is 4643.

Noting that he had a few meals of rice, vegetables and Pol Sambol, the MP has said that he received a mat to sleep and lay awake in his first night.

He added that inmates of the E ward had cleaned a place for him to stay but he wasn't alone there for long as Muhammad Muzammil had joined him soon afterwards.
