As an initial step, Salinda Dissanayake was appointed as the organiser of the Hiriyala electorate for the 'Our Sri Lanka Freedom Party'. Dissanayake initially functioned as the SLFP organiser of the electorate before being relieved from his post.

According to reports, Dissanayake's appointment has been made during a meeting chaired by former President - Mahinda Rajapaksa. The meeting was also attended by SLFP electorate members.

It is said that Prasanna Ranatunga and Geetha Kumarasinghe, who were removed as well, are to be soon appointed as electoral organisers of the 'Our Sri Lanka Freedom Party'.
