Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo today (12), the organisation said that minister Rajitha Senaratne had stated that a group from Madras is prepared to assassinate several prominent figures in the country and in such a backdrop, special security should be provided to those who should be given it.

Speaking, Ven. Gombaddala Samitha Thera added that the CID and the FCID should question minister Senaratne on this regard and that the security of the former President should be taken into consideration.

The organisation also said that a new Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) is to be introduced due to complying with conditions of the IMF.
