He stated that countries such as USA, Britain, France, Germany, China and Korea are among the countries that submitted proposals.

Accordingly following the advise of President Maithripala Sirisena these proposals will be taken into consideration under the supervision of group of scholars and immediate measures will be taken to solve the issue of garbage disposal in Western Province.

Under the measures to be implemented, a special machine will be imported to burn and recycle the garbage collected at Meethotamulla at the location itself and the particular project will also take measures to generate electricity utilizing the garbage disposed in other areas including Karadhiyana.

The proposed project intends to generate 10 MW of electricity from 500 tons of garbage.
