The lost firearms have been found from the bathing area of the monks.

The temple is around 5km away from the Laggala police station and it is thought that the stolen firearms were dumped at the site by the thief.

A T56 rifle and 5 revolvers were stolen from the police station earlier this week. However, no ammunition had been stolen by the suspect.

Speaking to media yesterday (15), police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that 03 police officers who were on duty have been interdicted.
