Accordingly, the SSC will use its two votes for deputy speaker of parliament Thilanga Sumathipala, who is contesting for the SLC presidency.

The club will also use its two votes for Sumathipala faction’s Jayantha Dharmadasa, who is vying to be the vice president, and Mohan de Silva as the secretary.

In the post for treasurer, its two votes will go to Nishantha Ranatunga faction’s Eastman Narangoda.

The SSC has decided against voting for Ranatunga, who is contesting for the presidency, although all members of the Ranatunga family had played for the club.

The club has a very strong executive committee, which even rejected an application by the then sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage for membership at the club.
