According to reports, it is highly likely that the appeals of Asanga Seneviratne from the 'Ranatunga' faction and K. Mathiwanan from the 'Thilanga - Jayantha' faction who are vying for the post of Vice President will have a positive outcome.

It is said that Mathiwanan's appeal is less likely to be rejected as he had contested in 2011 with the Attorney General approval.

Rumours also say that Asanga too, is to be granted candidacy under the same basis.

Meanwhile, it is said that Eastman Narangoda, Sujeewa Lokuhewa from the 'Ranatunga' faction and independent candidate - Nihal Lewke, are to file their appeals.
