Provincial sports directors as well as school sports directors too, are summoned to the meeting, reports add.

The meeting aims at building up coordination activities between the Sports ministry and provincial sporting activities as well as enhancing the relationship between school sports and sports associations.

Creating an understanding between school sports associations and national sports associations when selecting national pools for the upcoming South Asian Games in India, is said to be another objective.

Speaking on this regard, Sports minister Dayasiri Jayasekera says that Sports in the country will endure a downfall if there is no plan to bring forward talented school sports personnel through sports associations.
