The festival will be held in 2017 at the Gallle Face green, Colombo, with the participation of 8,000 local and international sports personnel with the view of promoting 07 selected sports in Sri Lanka internationally.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Sports minister - Dayasiri Jayasekara to appoint a steering committee chaired by the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports to organize this event and to enter into a MoU with a Malaysian company regarding its implementation, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers a few days earlier.
