Sapugaskanda oil refinery gives daily free meals for Army, police Featured

The CPC is incurring unnecessary expenditure due to the oil refinery at Sapugaskanda providing free meals for nearly 500 Army and police personnel every day, reports say.

The refinery’s canteen is to be closed due to the resultant heavy losses.

During the war, around 200 soldiers were deployed and a police post opened at the premises to guard the 150-acre facility.

All of them still continue to get their meals free from the refinery canteen.

However, the security guards hired by the refinery do not get free meals, an employee of the refinery told Sri Lanka Mirror.
