Upon receiving a tipoff, police have recovered a suicide jacket, 4 side chargers, 3 parcels of TNT and 2 packets of 9mm bullets.

It has been revealed that these explosives were planned to be transported to Wellawatta.

A man who had been in the house had fled when the raid took place. A woman and children at the house have been arrested, reports add.

This is said to be the first time a suicide jacket was found since the end of the war in 2009.
